Our customer’s 600 ton press is a critical piece of equipment. Another company had performed a stroke change in the past which started to fail from welding flaws.  In preparation for the repair, MPA manufactured a new eccentric shaft, new gears and pinions, new adjustment screws, nuts, and new bronze bushings throughout. The slide and crown were removed from the press and brought to our facility for rebuild. Welding was performed onsite and in house to repair cracks in the crown & columns. This scope of work was meticulously planned and executed during a scheduled outage over the holidays. The project was completed in approximately (24) days with MPA turning the press over to our customer ahead of schedule.
